PhD: 2014-2019
Alexander (Sasha) Teplenin joined our lab in the autumn of 2014, after obtaining his MSc degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in Russia.
He has specialized in cardiac tissue engineering and studying excitation waves in artificial cardiac constructs. During his ZonMw-supported PhD training he will utilize various optogenetic tools for investigating new strategies to study and treat cardiac arrhythmias.
