Dr. A.M.(Annelies) Slats is sinds 2014 verbonden aan de vakgroep Longziekten van het LUMC. Zij heeft haar specialisatie tot longarts gedaan in het Academisch Medisch Centrum in Amsterdam. Daarvoor heeft zij promotie onderzoek gedaan in het LUMC. Dit onderzoek was gericht de luchtwegverwijdende effecten van een diepe inademing op luchtwegvernauwing bij patiënten met astma.

Titus W.P. van den Heuvel, MD
Titus van den Heuvel joined our lab at the end of his medical studies for PhD training in March 2019. The focus of his PhD is the optogenetic engineering of the whole heart for biological arrhythmia management, supported by a European Research Council Starting grant (ERC-2016-STG).

A new undergrad student: Bram Akerboom!
During his first internship at our lab he identified genes involved in cardiac differentiation through an RNAseq analysis. During his current and second internship he will use CRISPR/Cas9 to study the effects of these genes and others on the cardiac differentiation of IPSCs. Coarctatio aortae

De linkerhartkamer pompt het zuurstofrijke bloed via de aortaklep naar de grote lichaamsslagader (aorta). Vanuit de aorta ontspringen de slagaders naar het hoofd, de armen en alle organen in het lichaam. Bij een coarctatio aortae (kortweg coarctatio) is een deel van de aortaboog, vlak na de afsplitsing van de slagader naar de linkerarm, ernstig vernauwd.

Drs. J.M. (José) Montero Cabezas is cardioloog.en heeft als aandachtsgebied interventiecardiologie.
In 2013 rondde hij de opleiding tot cardioloog af in het Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, behorende bij de Complutense universiteit van Madrid (Spanje).
Daarna heeft hij de opleiding tot interventiecardioloog in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC) gevolgd, waarna hij nu werkzaam is als interventiecardioloog. Sinds 2014 werkt hij ook als supervisor van de afdeling cardiologie.
