PhD: 2011-15
Marc Engels, who is originally from the tropical island of Curaçao, joined the lab of Sean Wu (Cardiovascular Research Center, MGH, Harvard University, Boston, U.S.A.) as an ICIN fellow in early 2010. During thisperiod he focused on cardiac differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. Subsequently, he received an NWO Mosaic grant to study cardiac reprogramming using specific factors tocover his PhD training. In late 2012 Marc moved to Stanford as the lab of dr. Wuwas relocated.
After spending more than 3 years in dr. Wu's lab he has moved to our laboratory in early 2013 to use his knowledge and skills to study cardiac arrhythmias inthe following 2 years, thereby finishing his PhD training.
