Alexandra joined the lab in February 2023 as an intern for her Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University.
Alexandra studies both Biomedical Sciences and Medicine. After obtaining her bachelor’s degrees, she is now in the first year of the combined master. Her bachelor’s thesis for Biomedical Sciences was focused on the application of intracellular flow cytometry on Sézary tumor cells.
This 6-month internship will focus on characterizing human (iPS-derived) ventricular cardiomyocyte tissues. A second part of the project aims to culture human atrial tissue for conditional immortalization.
