Dr. F. Arslan

Dr. F. (Fatih) Arslan is cardioloog met als aandachtsgebied interventiecardiologie.

In 2011 promoveerde Dr. F. Arslan cum laude op zijn proefschrift getiteld “Enhancing cardiac repair – targeting ischemia/reperfusion injury and adverse remodeling” waarin nieuwe aangrijpingspunten (binnen de immunologie en stamceltechnologie) werden onderzocht om schade aan het hart na een hartinfarct te verminderen en het herstel erna te bevorderen. Zijn onderzoek is ondersteund door (inter)nationale beurzen en privaat-publieke samenwerkingen.

Arslan volgde zijn opleiding tot cardioloog in het UMC Utrecht en het St. Antonius Ziekenhuis Nieuwegein, waarna hij in Nieuwegein als interventiecardioloog is opgeleid met als aandachtsgebied structurele hartziekten. Van eind 2020 tot en met 2021 heeft hij zich in Duitsland (Vivantes Klinikum am Urban (Berlijn) en Universitätsklinikum Essen) verder bekwaamd in percutane interventies van de mitralis- en aortaklep. Sinds december 2021 is hij werkzaam in het LUMC.

Naast zijn klinische taken is dr. F. Arslan betrokken bij het onderzoeksbureau van de afdeling cardiologie en actief binnen de Nederlandse Verenging voor Cardiologie (NVVC), o.a. als bestuurslid van de werkgroep Acuut Coronair Syndroom (ACS).
